You can reduce the tedium of some repetitive tasks by creating macro scripts in Fireworks. Just perform the steps in Fireworks you want in a script, then use the History panel to save them as commands. Or, write your own JavaScript code in a text editor to run within Fireworks.
Use scripts for tasks such as applying changes to text; applying colors, strokes, and fills; changing document size and resolution; setting a specific canvas color; or applying multiple effects or distortions to several objects. You can control nearly every command or setting in Fireworks through JavaScript using special JavaScript commands that Fireworks can interpret.
